Non-hodgkins Lymphoma

Iam a 73 year old female diagnosed 2 years ago with stage 3 low-grade b-cell follicular NHL. I was on a drug study from the very begining. I received the CHOP protocol followed by Bexxar- a radio-active immunotherapy. Icompleted all this about 16 months ago and am considered to be in remisson, but all my blood counts had to be monitored about every week since then because of low wbc.rbc, Hg, Platlets and granulocytes. I also developed hypothyroidism from the Bexxar. Ialso have neuropathy and very bad cramps in both my feet and legs. I also started having a bad whelp-like rash about 2 months ago and can't find what is causing that. My question to anyone out there is.Has anyone had the Bexxar treatment and what were there side-effects. I think I was the first person at this center that received this treatment so I can't find anyone to compare. Iwould like any comments .

RE: Non-hodgkins Lymphoma

I was diagnosed with indolent B cell follicular NHL stage 4 10 yrs. ago. We didn't treat it. It just never did anything. Although we checked it twice a year with CT/scans. 3 yrs. ago I developed Hodgkins Lymphoma and had to be treated. It is still in remission but the NHL came back in less than a year and in a more aggressive form. I had Bexxar in Nov. I've had a hard time keeping my blood counts up. I've had to have growth hormone shots and shots for anemia. Last week I was improved (without help) but still on the edge of normal. I have a CBC on Wednesday. The way I feel is a good indicator of how my immune system is doing. I think I should get a good report. I have a CT/scan on the 9th of Feb. The one for Dec. 29th showed all the cancer in the chest gone and the nodes in my back seem to be shrinking. I hope this next CT/scan will show me cancer free. All the best to you and let us know how you are doing. Kitty
