Confused and Afraid

Recently, the right side of my jaw hurt. Feeling around my cheek, I could feel a bump. At first I thought this was my jawbone, but I can squeeze it as though it were flesh. This is where I started to panic. I felt around the inside of my mouth around where it should be, but there's nothing there, meaning whatever it is must be inside the flesh, right?
My wisdom teeth are coming and and I may have to get them pulled. Could this pain in my jaw be attributable to the wisdom teeth, or is my jaw actually disclocated, or is there a chance that I may have a polyp? I hope the last is not the case; I'm only 18, and I don't want any crap happening to me in my college years...
For those of you who wonder: I have been smoking for about 4 months, and very seldom do skoal, so I doubt that the little amount of skoal that I do maybe once every two weeks (since last year) could give me a polyp that easily.
Please respond back soon; I'm really nervous here.

I suggest, that you go to your doctor and have a x ray, or cat scan performed, why try to guess at what the problem might be.A simple test can save you a lot of pain, and stress. God Bless, JT
