Few Informations

I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina (ex Yougoslavia state). My father has MM. He has a few different therapies and now doctor wants to include him a Thalomid. Problem is that we can`t find it in surrounding countries and doctor says that it is very expensive. Can anyone tell me where I can find it (if it is possible near by) and how much does it costs? Thank You!

Your Dad

Im very sorry to hear about your dad. My mum also has mm and has had it 2 years. She went through a stem cell transplant in March but unfortunately it didnt work. They were going to put her on Thalomid but instead that have recommended VELCADE as this has better results for mm. She was supposed to start this a week ago but she has been in hospital with pneumonia and now has bleeding from her stomach, nose and eyes. All i Know is one round of VELCADE cost £18,000 per round you have (a round of this is 21 days) my mum might need up to 4 rounds. I imagine Thalomid is roughly the same amount. I dont know if your dad has had a transplant, but if you check down the message board Im sure other people are having problems affording treatment and they give advice on where to turn if this is the case. I hope you will be successful in getting this treatment for your dad. I have heard some good stories about Thalomid in mm. Let me know how u get on
