AK treatment with Efudex - 2nd treatment on same area

After experiencing a rather difficult 1st time with using Edudex on my face - due to a doctor giving me the wrong info when to stop, and dealing with the pain for 2-3 weeks longer than I should of, I was hoping I wouldn't have to use it again on my face. Unfortunately, 4 yrs later it seemed it was time. I bought 2 new tubes on my trip back to Australia (I live in Japan and they don't seem to have it here) and started the course 6 weeks ago. Even though there were enough AKs to cause a reaction similar to 4 yrs ago, I got very little, with many of the rough areas not reacting at all. In the end I froze off the larger ones myself with liquid nitrogen. I'm wondering if anyone out there has used Edudex on their face more than once and what kind of results they have had. I'm also interested if anyone has used it on their arms and legs, if so, what was the time period and results. Being in an isolated area here in Japan, I am unable to get much advice or help - one reason I started cryo myself, so would appreciate any help anyone has to offer.CheersKim

Hello, I can not say that I have been there before, nor can i say I've treated my legs. I just finished my treatment, and yesterday the Doc says I look great. I have about 40 1/2 inch circles on my face and neck. Cooked me and I'm ready to heal. It does beat the Mohs method. I am just writing to to say keep your head up. Life is not fair, and for sufferers like us of this can be a real test of our Faith and Will. I don't know you, but I can say I believe you have it in you to stay strong, and find some good in this life. Keep us informed of your progress, I'm gonna start my arms and legs after the first of the year. Danny

Thanks for your reply, Danny. Since my first mail, I've learnt that the Efudex I had been using may have been tainted. A real killer, as it's hard enough to start the process and deal with it for a month, only to find out I'll have to start over again. It's more the timing than the discomfort as I am just too active outdoors to do it any other time but winter. I am now 2 months behind schedule so will also start on my arms and legs once the Efudex has been exchanged to a new batch and worry about my face again next winter. When you do your arms, what kind of coverage are you planning? Does hands - elbows exceed the recommended dosage? Once again, thanks for your reply, and good luck with your treatment. Cheers.
