carac

It is approx. 6 weeks since I stopped a 3-week Carac treatment. The worst patches of attack during treatment are still red ( high on cheek bones, nose and lower forehead). I have used a prescription anti-biotic ointment all this time; however, these last few spots are stubborn to heal. Has anyone suffered permanent discoloration? Has anyone else taken this long? I may go to a health food/vitamin store and try whatever they reccommend. Because I am 62, I may take longer to heal than a younger person. One other comment - the area of keratosis did not have a reaction to the Carac treatment, although the rest of my face did. Any thoughts on this? Could it be a mis -diagnosis because this rough patch is returning. Perhaps it was something else all along. Thank you.
