Looking for alternative to chemothrapy

My mother is suffering from lung cancer (adenocarcinoma) & according to doctors she is at her last stage as cancer is spread in bones & surgery is not possible. The only solution sugeested by doctors is chemothrapy but my mother gets no results after doing that. She was physically good before doing chemothrapy but now she is suffering a lot. Since we didn't get any results from the chemo, I stopped it. Now please help me find something else to do. I read about nutrition thrapy & book Challenge Cancer & Win, but I am resident of India & time & cost for obtaining the book is too high.

My husband Jim has esophageal cancer and we have been doing the Macrobiotic Diet as I know 2 people personally who have been cured of their incurable cancer. I'm typing up notes I have taken on nutrition and diet change as I've really been researching. I feel that is the way to go - lifestyle change, diet change and lots of prayer. You can read about macrobiotics on the internet - it's basically giving up red meat, white sugar, white flour, and milk products and eating whole grains and fruits and vegetables.

If you want a copy of my notes, email me.

Dear Judy, I was browsing the message board and came across your response on the macrobiotics diet and offered a copy of your notes. I am really interested as my husband has been diagnosed with stage IV non small lung cancer, adrenal metastasis(sp) and now has a new tumor near the head of pancreas. He has undergone chemo and radiation and no help, they have diagnosed him terminal. My problem is getting my husband to agree to any other alternative treatments. I believe in them, but until I can turn him around I am lost. His appetite is nil and is losing strength everyday. We have nothing to lose at this stage to try anything. Please send me a copy of your notes if you would. Thank you in advance. Linda

Alternative Treatments

Hi Judy; My name is Sharon and my mom has non small celladeno. lung cancer. Other than the cancer she is a very healthy, energetic 75 year old. Her last appointment in June the Dr. told her the tumors were again growing but she was unable to receive any more chemo because of her white bl. count was too low. She will have another c-scan in a few weeks and blood work. We are looking into other alternative care incase her counts are still low and chemo will not work for her. When we mention diets she feels we are grasping at straws. That they won't work and she has had a full life and tells us we can't keep her around forever. We know deep down she doesn't want to give up so maybe if she hears from someone who has had success with alternative care she will consider it. Would very much like to hear from you about the diet your husband is on. Hope and pray he continues to improve. thanks for any help you can offer us.

Alternative Medicine

Hi guys...
I have stg 4 nsclc....I have been seeing a naturopath and the doctors are "perplexed" because they can't quite wrap their heads around the fact that my cancer really isn't doing anything....I've been told that I am an "unusual case"...my doctor ... a lung cancer specialist (one of the top in Canada) has asked if she can present my "case" at a meeting with her colleagues because she is stumped at how to proceed or if to proceed with treatment! I have cut out meat except for deep water salmon...a bit of chicken (organic) and turkey - also organic...all food is organic...no milk, breads, dairy products, nothing processed...sugar is a huge no no...cancer loooovvees sugar...no alcohol..just good old fashioned veggies, fruits, nuts (raw almonds) and they are all organic...the idea is to eat a diet HIGH in ALKALINE - LOW on ACID...you can get this information on the internet...check out "nutriscan"...eat protein at EVERY meal...(shakes or whatever) my naturopath also has me on a regime of different immune boosters and vitamins, minerals and God knows what else...I take something called "greens plus" once a day...this helps the alkalinity in your diet...and I drink 1.5 - 3 litres of water a day...and not just any water...make sure the PH is 7 or above...evian is good. Its an expensive way to eat but your body deserves it..I drink a protein shake every morning...I feel good, I've lost weight but not muscle weight...I look better then I have in years...remember to stay away from sugar and refined stuff...stay organic and no processed foods, cheese etc...its hard at first but easy now....I'm a 46 year old female..remember to check your foods on the internet...some foods that you think would be considered as an acid food are not...they break down once digested to alkaline...pineapple for instance is okay...anyways...goodluck to you and also...try visualization...we really only use a small portion of our brain....who knows what we can convince our bodies to do...right?! take care..

It has spread to the liverand lymph nodes. It is beyond surgery and chemotherapy. We havebeen told to just “wait and watch”. Her primary symptom is weight loss (she is46 kg, down from 55kg lost over 7 months), nausea and loss of appetite. Besidesthat she is symptom free.Macrobiotics has been recommended for her and I am trying to speak with cancer patients who have used macrobiotics successfully. Could you refer people you know, who are using macrbiotic healing, and are willing to share their experience? That would help me greatly.Thank you.Puneet
