Urinating while sleeping

First I want to say how sorry for the pain that people have expressed in there notes. It is so hard to say good bye to these little friends. I think writing and reading the postings helps with the pain We have a 3 year old pug with Tcc. She was diagnoised in April she has been on Proixcam and ihas been doing extremely well. Recently we have discovered in a couple occasions she has urinated in her sleep she is totally unaware of it and actually is sleeping in it.. Has anyone else had this problem. I am not sure if it caused by the cancer or some other problem. If any one know let us know. Deep down I am afraid the cancer has progressed but she still acts like a puppy.Ann and Rubysue

RE: Urinating while sleeping

We just lost our 8 year of English Pointer Bess to TCC. She was diagnosed in March 2006 and died January 6, 2007. We had her put down because she was no longer eating and had lost her quality of life. We did not want her to suffer any longer. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Several months after she was diagnosed, she started having incontinence problems. She would slowly drip while standing and leak while she was laying down. I put plastic on her bed along with towels that I had to keep changing. The vet said that her tumor was not the cause of the leaking because of where it was located. I do think that the TCC was causing the leaking somehow. We put her on two medicines ( DES and Phenylopropanolamine) for incontinence which seemed to help at first and then the problem came back. Good luck to you. This is a terrible disease.Mary Sue (The Bess Mom)
