Husband needs bone marrow transplant

My husband is 42 yrs old. He was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma in Jan 2001. Then he was in remission for 14 months after going through CHOP Therapy and interferon. I am just devastated that the cancer has now returned. When he was first diagnosed in Jan 2001 - he was in stage 4 of Follicular Lymphoma. He just had a biopsy on his neck and they removed 5 lymph nodes and we got the results that the lymphoma is back. He goes next Tuesday for a bone marrow biopsy. And, they are looking at maybe a bone marrow transplant. I hope and pray that his sister is a match for him. I wanted to know if anyone knows or has gone through a bone marrow transplant. My husband really hates the idea of going through chemo again. But, I am sure that is no option for us. I am looking into Chemo and a supplemental program for him - If they do a bone marrow transplant. Please if you have any info on a bone marrow transplant - please let me know - God Bless

Hi Eda, it's me, Bobbie. The list you need to write to is mpd.net@listserv.acor.org - I hope this helps, they have been a God send to me. My Husband is terminal, and it's hard, but these people have a lot of answers.

God Bless you,
Bobbie

Hi Bobbie,
Thank you so much for replying. I am so sorry to hear about your husband. Lets pray for a miracle. May God be with you and your husband. I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply, but I have been in another world (I guess). They had changed their minds about doing a bone marrow transplant and are now going to do a stem cell transplant. My husband left yesterday Sunday 2-9 to head to MD Anderson to meet with his new oncologist. I am just devastated that I could not go with him. But, I am needed at home with our children. When he goes for the transplant - I will be there for him. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and if you would like to email me my address is eda_brooks@hotmail.com. It makes it so much easier to talk to someone going through the similar things. There is a lady I had meet on this message board and she is a Godsend. Her name is Brenda and it just makes it so much easier to talk to someone. God Bless. Love, Eda
