Desperate in TX

My daughter just found out that here new boyfriend has bone cancer, his mom died from cancer in 2003 and he is not seeking any treatment because he has no medical insurance. He recentley told her that he "hates the world because he is dying and no one cares" and I just want to make sure that he knows that someone does. I am looking for any help, names of programs or agencies that I may be able to contact in TX to get him treatment. If there is anyone out there who is in TX and has any information, please let me know.

RE: Desperate in TX

We found ourselves in the same situation when my husband was diagnosed with cancer last summer. Please encourage your friend to go to the doctor NOW! There is a multitude of help available and the best place to start is with your personal doctor or local hospital. They have a wealth of information and will steer you in the right direction. People DO care. We have experienced first hand the love and concern of our community and I know you will find the same in your area. Have faith and get him to the doctor. You may be surprised just how much people care and how willing they are to lend a hand. We have been very fortunate and do not feel the financial strain that we expected to face. Please do not give up hope, help is out there, just reach out and get it. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Best of luck to you and your friend.
