Hi, my name is Yancy and like some of the other messages I have just read..... I too have metastic breast cancer to my bones. After the mastectomy of my left breast and chemo. we finished up with radiation. I was put on tamoxifen and lupron (once a month shot). 3 months later I underwent the reconstruction surgery (tram-flap). After that whole ordeal I started feeling better and trying to get back into the swing of things.... My lower back was killing me and I thought I had just sat around for too long after surgery. It seemed to get worse and the pain ran down my leg (left) and consumed my entire pelvic area. After 3 months of getting adjusted and having massage therapy done I finally reallized that the pain wasn't going away.... All of my tumor markers were coming back completly "normal" by the way, nothing in the blood tests were abnormal. Finally went to get MRI and next day was told the bad news (July 2006). One week later I was not able to walk after I stepped out of the shower. Have never ever been in so much pain. At this time I enjoyed my first trip to the ER in ambulance. Stayed 12 days and started radiation during my stay to my entire pelvic area. My pelvis, spine, sacrum, and lumbar were eaten up with the cancer. Left hospital having to use "walker and wheelchair". Was at this time taken off of the tamoxifen and put on "femara" and " zoemeta"... The following scans showed that the disease was moving on to some of my ribs and other bones too. Went to Duke university and saw a dr. that is now working with my oncologist. I am about to turn 39 and they want to start the pill form of the chemo and perhaps the "ribbon 1" trial. I too am anemic and get the aranesp every 2 weeks... No mor lupron though, just got my ovaries out last week. Have 17 yr. old son and a wonderful husband.... Just want to know about some holestic therapys or perhaps any vitamin therapies (vit C) maybe anyone has tried.....There doesnt't seem to be many women in my area with this same problem.... Feel alone sometimes... Due for scans this week, am terrified. Don't want to due chemo. again even if I won't loose my hair this time. We have also majorally changed our eating habits... Trying to beat cancer with nutrition. Thanks for listening sorry for the lenthy story..............Yancy
