CancerCompass message board discussion started by Pammyt on 1/6/2007 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,8664,0.htm Tue, 02 Dec 2008 00:00:00 GMT Tue, 02 Dec 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ Status:  Stage three stomach cancer met to the bowels.  Chemo and some experimental treatment really had no effect.  Shouldn't one have surgery sooner than later if it is to be effective?  This person has known about the cancer for about 6 months...was told originally that with no treatment she might have a year...I know it doesn't necessarily spread quickly but I am not sure of the type of cancer.  Shouldn't she have surgery as soon as possible is the question?  Or does it not make a difference?  Logically it just seems to me that the sooner the better.
