Need Advice

My mom is 63 and was just recently diagnosed with stage IV stomach and it has metastasis to the liver.. The doctor said it is inoperable and all clinical trials in our area have closed and the doctor said the only option is ECF. I have been reading some articles that say this doesn't really help or prolong life. Is this true?Should I contact all her close friends to let them know or should I let this be her decision? I just want her to know she has a strong support around her.Sincerely,Michelle

Hello Maria,Thank you for thinking of my mom and me. That is so very thoughtful. My mom has been doing really well with her Chemo treatments. Her first round was 8 hours, then she had 2 more rounds at 3 hours. She goes for her 4th Chemo visit on Monday which will be 8 hours again. Everyone keeps telling me that for my mom to have stage IV gastric cancer, she is doing really, really well. Of course this makes me very happy to know my mom is a strong and healthy person. She still continues to go to her Tai Chi classes, which helps her relax and learn to control her pain. My mom has gained 12 pounds since she was first diagnosed (she now ways 118). I told her we are going to try and fatten her up. My mom said the doctor has mentioned radiation to her. She is scared because she knows this treatment will make her really sick. How are you doing? I hope everything is well.
