LOW FIBRE LOW RESIDUE DIET FOR COLON CANCER WITH METASTASIS

Does anyone have any suggestions what I can give my husband to eat?He is 72 with colon cancer that has metastasised to liver, and is being treated with FOLFOX. His diet should be low fibre and low residue. I know he should not have milk (leaves residue), animal fat, wholegrain/what anything, pulses, pork, any though meat, any fruit or vegetables other than carrots and peeled potatoes and some canned fruits. He CAN have yogurt, chicken, some fish, clear soup (?) etc, plain biscuits (I'm English so that means cookies!). I can't believe it is good for him to have such a restricted diet. Does anyone know of any other vegetable that he could possibly eat, or any interesting menus that don't involve vegetables?

My story is as follows:-I had cancer of the bowel and 8 major operations over 15 years and suffered from complications with adhesions (scar tissue) and diabetes. Having tried many alternative natural products over 20 years, I had nearly resigned myself to my poor quality of life. At the beginning of the year I was introduced to FUCOIDAN, which is a natural extract of brown seaweed, known for it's benefits to the human body for hundreds of years. The effect was immediate and changed my whole way of life. The abdominal pains receded, the digestion of food improved and my blood sugars started to reduce!! Having been so delighted and relieved, I would like to share my experience with as many people as possible. FUCOIDAN has the reputation of causing cancer cells to self destruct and to strengthen and produce healthy white blood cells. In addition, it can also, boost, regulate and maintain the immune system. Extremely positive results have been experienced for any condition, such as M.E. where the immune system is under performing (many common ailments are just as a result of this.) It has other properties as well, but the most important thing is how the Fucoidan is absorbed into the body. The product I have been using, includes the Fucoidan in a unique, matrix based, natural fibre suspension gel, which is perfect for this product and the others produced by the same Company. If anyone is interested, --- Message edited by CancerCompass staff: for personal protection, email address and phone number removed. Please review CancerCompass Member Guidelines at http://www.cancercompass.com/common/guidelines.html ---- It feels so good to have got my life back. The other gel products provide maximum nutritional needs as far as Vitamins, Minerals ets, which is a great help. Nothing can replace a balanced diet, however, when cancer is involved sometimes it is best to make sure the supplemental intake is the best and then try various foods as part of a normal diet as possible.Sincere best wishesSteve

I kinda have the same question. I had a whipple from pancreatic cancer. I will use yogurt, almond milk, fruit and whey protein powder, I have also used egg protein powder. You can make up your own. Oh i put it in a blender and make a smoothie. The only problem with going to buy a smoothie, they put too much ice in them and they are expencive. Also, I am lazy, but you could juice veg. and fruits. I am sure you can get a book at the library and ask around if anyone has a juicer you can borrow. good luck dawnella

I hope you get better soon. Best Wishes Steve
