Carac Cream

I am on day 6 of 14 day Carac treatment for my face and scalp. I have had two bouts of melanoma, scalp and eye. Although the side effects of the Carac are pretty tough, the reason that I am here is early diagnosis and treatment Looking forward to finishing the Carac on Jan 26.

She says it is painful. Will you give me a little more information on what you went though? I'm a little scared to start. I'm waiting until Monday, 2/19/07. Any information you are willing to share would be appreciated. Thank you.

I used Carac for 14 consecutive days applying it each morning. Here's what you should expect. After 3-4 days your face is going to be very red. After each successive day your face will be very tender, sore and will start to peel in little tiny areas different than when you get a sunburn. I washed my face daily with Cetaphil which felt good and rinsed quickly as water seemed to burn my face so I towel dried quickly. The best moisturizer, by far, is Vaseline as the ones that contained water burned my face. My advice is to review the web postings for any info that you can get to help you through the process. Expect to look pretty bad but there are so many people that have gone through this it did not appear that bad to them. It took about 10 days after I stopped using the Carac to start looking normal. The end result has been terrific, my skin is clear and very soft and I f/u on 2/20 with my Dermatlogist but I already know that it has worked for me. Good Luck, it's definitely worth going through the process!
