My Wife has AML leukemia

I am interested in finding information on the subject and on the emotions to maybe expect from AML and treatment. She has clompleted her fourth round of chemo and waiting for the numbers to go up so she can have a bone marrow test to see if the leuk. is gone. I am so scared of the results and how they will effect her emotions and mine. I need information on how to give my wife the support that she needs without smothering her with attention? Can anyone help me? Please reply!!

RE: My Wife has AML leukemia

Kelvin,I had AML Leukemia when I was two years old, I was treated at Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake. I have been cured for about twenty years now, and I am shotin for a goal to eventally become a chemo nurse with kids. I think it takes a strong person to be able to go through cancer and a stong person to stand by with the person with cancer. I don't rember to much about my cancer, but I have learned tons about it startin just a couple years back. My source of info is from Webmd.com, it is an awesome source of info. I went for a scholarship, a cancer one, and needed proof of my cancer for that scholarship, and so I have all of my medical records that help alot as well. I hope that Webmd.com helps you as far as info, it is an awesome site, hope you enjoy.Your palTodd K
