Non-small celll lung cancer

Hooray for the Cancer Alliance stand on CT scans to detect lung cancer in its early stages. I am part of the NLST study and it has saved my life! I had a CT scan in 2003 that detected a small <1 cm. lesion in my right lower lobe. My doctor ordered CT scans every 3 months and a PET scan annually. In April of 2006, a PET scan verified the lesion was malignant. After a biopsy, I had radio frequency ablation and today, almost a year later, I am cancer free. Anyone who thinks tests for early detection of lung cancer is unnecessary, should talk to me and anyone else who is alive and cancer free today.
