CancerCompass message board discussion started by Squirrel on 1/23/2007 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,9037,0.htm Sun, 07 Sep 2008 00:00:00 GMT Sun, 07 Sep 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ Hooray for the Cancer Alliance stand on CT scans to detect lung cancer in its early stages.  I am part of the NLST study and it has saved my life!  I had a CT scan in 2003 that detected a small <1 cm. lesion in my right lower lobe.  My doctor ordered CT scans every 3 months and a PET scan annually.  In April of 2006, a PET scan verified the lesion was malignant.  After a biopsy, I had radio frequency ablation and today, almost a year later, I am cancer free.  Anyone who thinks tests for early detection of lung cancer is unnecessary, should talk to me and anyone else who is alive and cancer free today.
