support groups

I would like to know if there are any support groups through Midwestern Regional Cancer Center in Zion Illinois. Right now I'm going through just about the hardest time of my life. I fell in love with Dustin 7 months ago and it was love at first sight, I knew he had cancer, and still dove into the relationship head first. As he progressed with his treatment I began to see a sicker Dustin, and willingly stayed to take care of him because for me it was not only a privilege, but an honor to take care of this beautiful man. Now that he is in the ICU I can't describe the way I feel I almost feel like I want to blow a gasket. There is no one to blame for his illness and that's the thing with cancer there is no one to blame. If anyone knows of some sort of support group to help me please let me know before I fall apart

My experience is that ALL hospitals and treatment centers do offer some form of support. There are support groups in Burr Ridge, Wellness House- Homewood and Mokena support centers, Joliet Oncology on Jeffferson St. has a seminar on Feb 23 at 5:30 pm.Many places offer consuling for free. Find a hospital close to you and call. Ask for the oncology department, then ask them what they offer in terms of support. Good Luck, Bette
