family is frustrating!

My boyfriend of almost a year was diagnosed with brain cancer 4 or 5 months ago went through surgery and is now doing chemo and radiation. His family is across the country but he is here with me and this is where his doctors are. He is in the navy and so where he found out is where he says for now. He is getting out of the navy soon. His parents have not been very involved. We are only 22 they should be! Mine are there more than his are which isnt right at all. His dad came out before surgery and said that we were not alone and promised me i wouldnt be responsible for taking care of him. He had some complications and went back to the hospital three times. I took him to the ER everytime and stayed up with him when he was scared. i left work when he found out he had to start radiation and chemo cause it was growning faster than they thought. his parents not there at all. now his dad is here and lying to me again telling me he is there for us and will do anything his new plan move my boyfriend home where they are two hours away from any decent hospital right now we are an hour from boston and some of the best doctors in the country.his dad is very against people lying to him so why can he lie i dont know what to do im running out of energy it seems like his parents look at him as if he is dying tomorrow. he isnt aside from treatments he is fine we ski hike everythinghe can beat this thingi just need to know how to stand up to his dad

Hello,I went thru something like u r going thru but with my family. My oldest sister was dying, and they did not want to get involved. What I learned thru out the whole journey was, do what you want to do for him, I had to let the other people not exist in my mind. I stayed with my sister until the moment she left me, and I know to this day, that I did the right thing.Follow your heart, be there for him, and you will remember the times you spent with him, till the end.Bless you.
