Are There Any Tried and True TCC Alternative Treatment Options

I have an 11 year old female Sheltie who was diagnosed in December with TCC (yes, typical age, breed and sex, I know). The tumor was removed surgically (this rarely happens but we were able to do so in the case) and her post-op treatment after visiting with an oncologist has been peroxicam and mitoxantrone. An ultrasound was performed prior to the first dose of mitoxantrone. There was no visible mass in her bladder. After six weeks (two treatments later and before dose three) another ultrasound was performed and a very small mass was noted in a different spot. Since the mitoxantrone is not working she has been switched to carboplatin which is indicated for TCC tumors resistant to mitoxantrone. Additionally, I have her on K9 Immunity and K9 Immunity Transfer Factor (just started about a week ago). I have researched High ph therapy as an option either along with chemo or in the event this newly started chemo agent does not work (I hope with all of my heart that it does). Has anyone out there administered this successfully? Is there anything else out there that I have not mentioned that you have found to help in this situation?

As a last resort, I would look at this research being done at the University of Alberta.http://www.depmed.ualberta.ca/dca/ Although these tests were done in rats using human lung, protate and breast cancer, it looks like it may work with others as well. The bigest problem being that the pharmaceutical big-wigs can't make money on this one and will not be funding clinical trials. It will be up to the foundations such as Terry Fox Fund etc to pick up the slack.Might not be the Silver Bullet for cancer but it might be a big axe.
