biopsy scheduled, mole changing (pics)

Hi all,

My name is Matt and I'm 28. I have a lot of moles on my body (mostly my
back and face). When I had my yearly physical a couple of months ago my
doctor noticed one on my chest that looked suspicious, so he referred
me to a dermatologist. I saw the dermatologist 2 weeks ago. She looked
at the mole under a special light, and she said it does look suspicious
and wants me to have a biopsy on it. The biopsy is scheduled for March
21st, which is over a month away.

The thing that kind of concerns me is that the mole seems to be
changing. The border is irregular and it seems to be developing a scab.
The mole is pretty small, the diameter is less than a pencil eraser
(which is a test I've seen used in my search for info). I've always
been a bit of a hypochondriac and I'm really obsessing over this. The
mole is still small, but the changes concern me. Do you think I should
try to schedule an earlier appointment for the biopsy, or should I just
wait?

I took a few of pics of the mole to show you. I know this isn't a
place to seek medical advice but maybe those with more knowledge of
melanoma than myself can provide some feedback.

As you can see, I don't get much sun. I also lost 130 pounds, which explains the stretch marks. Any comments/advice would be appreciated.

Sometimes it can be hard to tell from a picture, if there is a problem or not. The biopsy is the only sure way to tell. You probably already know the ABCD's of melanoma. Asymetry, Border (irregular), Color (varies), Diameter (larger than pencil eraser). Here is a site with some melanoma pictures.http://www.proleukin.com/metastatic_melanoma/Melanoma_Pictur I would wait for the biopsy and try not to worry.
