Unfortunately it is not good news. Over 100 areas of bone are effected. I will not have Chemo has it will not help and rad is only to the areas to relief pain. I will have 3 sessions on Dec. 17 and as things progress some more rad, it is to help with the quality of life to ease the pain and nothing more. I am trying to be strong but the future looks so gloomy i do not know how to feel, just have to take things as it goes i guess. Thank You all for being here for me I appreciate it

I was so happy to make it to 16 months cancer free I was so looking forward to my 2 year mark. Well Monday past I had a bone scan and I found out yesterday there are a few lessions showing. I see my ongologist tomorrow Dec. 3 for the outcome and where we go from here. The pain is so bad at times well actually most of the time and so they are trying to control it today has been the best day for pain in over 4 months now. Ty tongrenhealer for the post and to Phil, Barbara and others who have helped me so much along the way. I will try and be positive but right now I am in awe and shock, I really thought I would be one of the lucky ones. I will keep in touch.

RE: stomach problems

by Ever4015 on Sat Sep 26, 2009 12:00 AM

Hi Sheila: Actually, I have been having stomach problems as well and my surgeon just did and endoscope and food my food is not digesting properly and my stomach lining is irritated. He had put me on this same medication, Domperidone, and so far I have not had any side effects from it at all. I have not been on it long enough to know if it is helping or not, but like you I have absolutely no appetite what so ever, food has absolutely no appeal to me. I've lost 9 lbs in a month. I now weight 130 so at 4'11", I am still okay. I think it will always be this way. He told me to eat softer foods, but no dilation was necessary, and I am still cancer free. Hope this helps.

RE: diagnosis: Stage 2B Esophageal Cancer

There are many side effects of Chemo, and everyone's experiences are different. I know for me food was tasteless, and I had a hard time eating so I ate simple foods, like mashed potatoes, Kraft dinner, the only thing I could drink and still is was water, everything else turned my stomach. I lost my hair and was extremely sick for 1 or 2 days during the Chemo even with the anti-nausea drugs. Make sure he tries to eat even if things taste horriable and drink plenty of fluids and exercise such as walking whatever amount of time he can tolerate these are very important factors.Fatique and tiredness are common also. Hope this helped.

I am so sorry for you grandpa's passing. He is in a better place now and his suffering has ended. Just know he is watching over you and will always be with you. Keep his memory alive in all that you do and did with him.
