Really sorry to know about your mother.At this juncture chemotherapy is the only hope that can prolong life by at least a year.Who knows something curative might have come up by that time.

She can be given Avastin along with  Gemcite & Oxaliplatin(3 cycles).Alternatively Terceva with Gemcite & Oxaliplatin can be given .After this, she can undergo a transartery radioembollization with Ittrium.I am sure with these treatments a minimum survival of 2 years can be ensured.Please consult with your doctor regarding the above treatement options.Do not loose heart.I am a liver cancer patient with mets on lungs, now successfully enjoying my fouth year with help of chemotherapy ,surgery,radio embollization & Avastin therapy.I am quite active at 38.One thing,Give her plenty of wheat grass juice.That helps a lot.

I am 38 years & doing my job.I started chemo on January 2005 & already undergone 19 cycles of cytotoxic chemotherapy covering gemcite,carboplatin,oxaliplatin,paraplatin,docetaxel,xeloda,calyx,5 fu& mytomicin.Also I had taken Geftinib & Nexavar(20 days only as I could not tollerate it)Now I have two Mets on lung while liver is clean.My Afp is increasing by two times every month & is currently 464.

My doctor has advised 3 cycles of avastin & irinocam while I want to take only Avastin due to toxic effects of Irinocam.

Has anybody experienced this combination?Will it be more effective in my case than Avastin alone vis-a-vis negative points?Please reply me.

         I am a liver cancer patient with mets on lungs.I am now continuing on my 3+ year after two surgeries and 19 cycles of chemotherapy(All the 3 lines of chemo exhausted).Recently my doctor has advised me for NEXAVAR as the only availaible treatement for me.

So can anyone please guide me about the procedure to get this drug in India.Also approximate cost for 120 tablets.

Hi All,

I am 37 years old with liver cancer metastised on lungs.I am under chemotherapy for last 2 & 1/2 years & has already taken 17 cycles of various combinations.Now I am on Gemcite + auxiloplatin. My veins on hand have become black for certain lengths & at a point below the wrist a portion of a vein has swelled disproportionately & is indeed very hard.I am feeling very tired & thinking of living chemo & accept my fate.I want to know if anyone has taken these many cycles?What is their condition?Have they ever got rid of the cancerous nodules at any point during the course of treatement?Yes, once when I took 3 cycles of Docetaxel & carboplatin the nodules disappear as revealed by PET scan . But they reappeared withen 3 months. I am feeling very insecure & confused at this moment.Please please share your stories with me.
