Tom, Thank you so much for responding and sharing your story.  The shock has worn off as time as gone by and so therefore I have gotten more positive.  I still have bad days but I have 2 small children so I don't want them to see me upset, nor do I have time to be upset.  After October I will be done with 6 months of chemo and will have 6 months more.  I also take Keppra becuase a seizure started...

I wanted to know if anyone out there has a Oligodendroglioma and has also gone on Social Security Disability?  If so can you tell me what the process is like for getting approved for benefits? Thanks Cheryl

Kiran, I do wish your family all the best.  My husband and I have been together for 16 years so I totally understand.  My tumor was removed back in April.  They got almost all of it.  I still have to take seizure medicine for 6 months.  I ended up back in the ICU 2 weeks ago becuase I had 6 seizures and home and my husband ended up having to call 911.  I was in the ICU for 4 days. ...

Danny, I will try the activia for sure, thank you.  I did have both deletions so they said that was a good thing.  They only have me doing the temador for 1 year and not radiation.  Thanks so much for your advise, I appreciate it so much. Cheryl

Damon, Thank you so much for responding.  The right side of my head (which is where the tumor is) is still in pain.  I cannot sleep on that side of my head at all.  I was just thinking it should be feeling better by now but I am sure it will just take time.  The doctor did say that all the nerve endings have yet to heal and that may be why I am having issues with taste.  All in time I guess....

Hello, I was diagnosed with a grade 2 oligodendrogliomaon 4-20-2012.  I had surgery 3 days later.  I am now home and currently am doing 1 yr of Temador.  I have done 2 cycles of it and about to do my 3rd.  I thought it would be the same each month but that is not what has happened.  The first month I had really bad constipation the week of the Temador.  This past month I had horrible co...

Cassie and everyone else who has replied, I am sorry I have been doing chemo this week and have not had a lot of time to respond.  I so appreciate reading everyones posts.  It helps me to know that others are going through the same things.  I do have a question.  Did any of you have an issue tasting food or drinks?  I for some reason have lost my sense of taste since I was diagnosed with the...

Wyatt, I appreciate the information. It is good to keep in mind that the studies out there are really old.  I am just taking it one day at a time.  I did get the 1P 19Q test and I have both deletions so that is good.  I started Temador last month and do it again next week.  I did fine on it so I am sure you will too. Thanks for the help Cheryl

Laura, Thanks so much for responding.  This is all so new to me and my mind is just going in so many directions.  I went to the oncologist last Friday and told them what was going on with my sleep.  I had not slept since I got home from the hospital except for like 3 hours a night.  It turns out that I still have swelling in my brain and I had to go back on the steroids.  I was able to sleep...
