I came 2 this site seeking advice from those who have been where I was going, mammo & needle guided biopsies. Finding 2 tumors 1 in each breast @ my 1st EVER MAMMO was shocking!

Thanks my sisters 4 coming 2 my rescue & answering my question & concerns! When ppl/strangers reach out & understand, listen suggest & offer prayers it almost brings me 2 tears...THANKS AGAIN!

Now that I have a lil experience when it comes 2 mammo's & needle biopsy proceedures, the next young woman who comes here seeking experienced advice, I can share mine!

The needle biopsy wasn't painful, thanks 2 Lydocaine, but seeing the process WAS! *the entry cut w/scalpel, needle inserted, watching the needle extract samples from tumor on ultrasound screen, the loud noise from extraction machine, the smell, then actually viewing the removed tissue/tumor samples...just looked like red jello!

I know some might think TMI-(too much info) but 4 some1 who has never experienced what I have & is here seeking answers about what 2 expect when they do...this is 4 U!

The day after is a little painful, my entry cuts are starting 2 itch already! (thats a good sign of healing)

I have a sports bra on, i'd suggest the same & ice pack 20min on 30min off thru out the day. Other than that, it is not as scary or painful as it seems!!

Feel free 2 contact me :)

I know, 2day @ 2pm is my double breast biopsy & the odds are on my side! 2 tumors 1 pathology report!

Benign or maligant? I feel like i'm rolling dice trying 2 throw 7 or 11 :) **Humor is my comfort!**

I'm video recording this day, my apptment & experience w/my digital camera.

Jan 6, 2010 I will never 4get! 2day is either the beginning of a fight 4my life & breast or the end of a heredity scare & close call!

2pm is approahing way too fast!

Hey Taleeni,

Thank u 4 the kind words & biopsy report! I kinda figured the same pain as the mammo but 10 times worst & w/a needle! I'm requesting vicadin from my DR 2morrow, as my biopsy is schduled 4 wed Jan 6th.

I feel u on letting out emotions, I've been crying & screaming since that mammo found 2 tumors! It actually helps me & clams me down when my mind wonders. Especially when I hear in the news of women losing their battle w/BC! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Y do we need breast anyway! Besides 2 breast feed, & it seems like Similac has great recipe the way my son & other babies drink w/out breathing somethings :) (lol)

I have 2 find humor 2 keep from crying & being sad, so 4giv me if your funny bone is on mute. I'll keep u posted as well & thanks 4 reaching out!

Thanks 4 registering 4 me :)

U were 31? (bless u!)..& they recommending 1st mammo's @ 40! Be done spead all over the body by then! I'm not looking 4ward 2 this new path/journey the man upstairs has now laid out in front of me, but I know in order 2 beat this & rest my mind I have 2!

I had 2 fibroid tumers removed from my uterus in 2008 & I made it thru that scare benign. Your mom was too young! (bless her!) I'm starting 2 believe early detection is key now, thats y I started these exams!

My biopsy on both breast is Jan 6th! I'll keep u posted & thanks 4 your kind words & support!

Did U go thru w/your biopsy? (I hope) If so plez share your experience as i'm schedule next month 4 a double!

Healthy 33yr old in Atlanta, GA whose active @ the gym, but recently discovered 2 tumors 1 in each breast @ my 1st ever mammogram! My mothers sister was diagnosed w/B-cancer in her 30's so knowing this disease is hereditary I got checked early. My DR has schedule a double image-guided needle biopsy 4 next month, I dont know what 2 expect as w/that mammogram which was a shocking experience! (vice grip) Anyways, seeking experienced advice/convo on my up & coming journies....Thanks
