So my dad had his surgery and 90% resection on a GBM tumor in Feb. 1st round of chemo and radiation just ended 2 weeks ago. MRI yesterday and tumor is back, bigger and spreading fast. Doc says its to early for another surgery and to do more chemo and radiation is option but seems to have done nothing for him. I think he's coming to the conclusion that this is truly the beginning of the end and its killing me cause I ...

Hey Sarah, yea his tumor was on the right side. He had a seizure and it really only effected his left side. He's on Kepra and 2mg of Dexamethason every other day. Not sure if that seems high or low to what others take. Just seems to be a real quick loss of strength over the past few weeks. He had been walking pretty good, slow but still mobile. Yesterday not so much. My mom is calling his Oncologist today, he had bee...

Went and stayed with my dad for a while today. He did not seem very tired today but still very weak. His seizure had gotten his left side pre surgery. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since ending 1st cycle of chemo and radiation. 2 weeks ago he was able to get up and walk around and get to the bathroom by himself. Today he needed help to be up walking and making it into the bathroom. His left side is giving him fits. Not su...

My father finished his 1 rd of his chemo and radiation treatment 2 Mondays ago. Got a call from my mom and she said he could barely get up today and is very weak. Is this common after the treatment to be very weak for a period of time?

Sorry no updates lately, I have been very busy. My dad has been home for 2 weeks now and seems to be doing pretty good. Still hasn't started his chemo or radiation treatments yet(not 100% sure why, mom says paperwork issues). Visited yesterday and he asked if I had gotten my fishing license yet and that he was getting his this week. Deff a good feeling for me to know he's motivated to get out and do our annual spring...

Hey NatMom we are in Ohio and his tumor was in the right temporal lobe but it was pretty deep. I haven't found any grants yet, but as I said when my father gets home my mother will have to go back to work. The thought of him coming out of the hospital to being home the majority of the day by himself after going through all this is not a good one. I just feel like if I were to able to stop by every or every other morn...

This is my 1st time posting here as we just recently found out my father has GBM. I am 29 and have a 5 yr old daughter and a 9 month old son. My father is 59. So on to my fathers situation. My father had a seizure and wound up in the hospital. After MRI found a brain tumor. 5 days later he had a full resection and came out pretty good. Having some difficulties now but he's on the mend. Hopefully out of hospital ...
