My name is Sharon and I am currently completing a master's degree in health. My dad was diagnosed with early gastric cancer (signet ring) in the summer of 2009. Partial gastrectomy (D2), no lymph involvement. It returned six months later. 5FU (Xeloda) and radiation. Stopped due to grade 4 side effects. Went for a total gastrectomy last summer but it was stopped due to peritoneal seeding. Now on enteric feeding at night with a port cath and Folfox 6 + Avastin - 14-day cycle. Some side effects after round 3. Does anyone have any experience with this type of cancer? Does peritoneal carcinomatosis ever show up on a PET or CT scan? Good thoughts and wishes to all.
