Hi Mandersleigh,
You already have some great advice here so I'll keep my reply short. You are young and otherwise healthy so I don't want to scare you, but the same exact thing happened to my husband. His only symptom was a swollen lymph node. He was 51 so older than you, but otherwise completely healthy, never smoked, doesn't drink in excess, all the same as you. He just had a swollen lymph ...

There's so much great advice and support that's already been given to you here. I would just add that if in your gut you are feeling there is something that's just not right - yes, you should see another ENT in another practice. My husband had a swollen lymph node - no other symptoms. Three doctors (1 GP, 2 ENTs) told him it was nothing. Needle biopsy came back negative. C...

I'm all about being positive on this board but on this one I have to say - NOTHING helped my husband relieve that mucus during treatment. He tried everything. The only cure was time. The good news is that it began improving quickly after treatment ended. We were so happy when we could toss out the ever present box of tissue and trash can!

Yes, I agree with PopPop that another opinion is in order. It wouldn't be the first time when one doctor said there was no hope, another is convinced there is. Get multiple opinions, weigh the options and then they can make the most informed choice.

I am so sorry to hear you are going through the fear again after all you and your husband have been through. What you are going through right now is the fear we all carry - that we'll hear that it's back in another place. I pray every day for another 30 years with my husband. He's cancer free now, but this is always in the back of our minds, isn't it?
We have not been told about spots in ...

First let me say how sorry I am that you are dealing with this diagnosis and acknowledge how scared you must be feeling right now. My husband's story of diagnosis is very similar to yours and I remember clearly all of the emotions we went through. You'll go back and forth between scared and confident for awhile - but don't worry, as you talk with doctors and develop a treatment plan, confidence ...

John!
There you are ~ I must have missed your earlier posts. I've been wondering how you are since your surgery. I hope all is well ~ and no worries, you aren't leaving your wife and kids behind without you. You're young, you're strong, and you've got all the right things going for you with this treatment.
I'm going to be away for a bit but I'll be thinking of you and wishing you wellness, h...
