I've had 4 kinds of lymphoma, one was incurable.  I've been through chemo and radiation 4 x's.  After the last one the incurable came back in 3 months.  One year after I finished chemo I asked for a scan.  The night before I prayed that God take this cancer from me.  During the scan I prayed the same thing.  Scan came back with no signs of cancer.  That was March 2012.  In Augu...

I had ABVD.  I was afraid of the Adriamycin because a friend got heart damage from it.  I got Bleomycin toxicity and was 2 days from death when I got to the ER.  It took 6 wks of Prednisone and an oxygen machine in my house for me to be able to breathe.  After that I can no longer get oxygen because it will harm my lungs.  The Bleomycin toxicity can come back and cause problems to includ...

I was 47 when I was diagnosed with Stage 4 indolent small B cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.  We did the watch and wait for 7 yrs.  Then I developed Hodgkins Lympyhoma.  I had to have treatment for it.  It's been in remission since 2004.  The indolent came back in one year and brought a more aggressive form of itself.  If I hadn't had HL my NHL might still be indolent.  Watch and wait is...

I've had indolent small B cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma since 1997.  At the time it was stage 4 and in the bone marrow.  We did the watch and wait for about 7 yrs. Then I had a lump behind my ear that grew fast.  We did a needle biopsy and then surgery to remove it.  They took the salivary gland with it.  It was Hodgkins Lymphoma.  I had ABVD and almost died 5 times.  2005 until now th...

I had ABVD and had to have Neulasta injections the day after chemo.  They helped me get my blood counts up.  About 5 days after the chemo and neulasta you get bone pain.  Mine would start at the small of my back and roll up my spine and hit me in the back of the head.  I took pain pills but I found sitting still I didn't get the pain.  I mostly got it when I was moving around. You need to do a lot of research on everything they tell you.  Ask for printed results from all tests.  Use the internet to find answers.  Go to University hospital sites and Cancer centers to get answers.  That way you can know what to ask.  Take charge of your treatment.  Know what you are talking about to make right decisions.  Remember you get to make the decisions.  It's y...

If you don't think your doctor is taking it seriously, get another doctor.  You be in charge of your body and your care. Know all you can about any drugs they give you.  I have had 4 types of Lymphoma and an eye disease caused by the Lymphoma.  Find out about all test results.  Don't let them just tell you what they found, ask for the results on paper.  Then go about finding out what everythi...

Seattle Fred Hutchinson (especially for Lymphoma).  I've had 4 Lymphomas.  They are doing lots of research there and are teamed with Madigan Army Medical Center.  Theres a cancer center in Texas (can't remember the name, chemo brain).  Try Cancer Centers of America.  They have many locations and treat the body, mind, and spirit.  They take all things into consideration which I think is b...

Insist on MRI, CT/Scan and a biopsy.  It's your life not theirs.  It's better to be safe than sorry.  I have had 4 kinds of Lymphoma.  Treated 4 times, radiated 4 times and almost died 7 times.  1 of them was incurable.  Well after last chemo incurable one came back in 3 months.  Others are in remission.  One year after I finished the 4th chemo I asked for a scan.  I praye...

Ask every question you have.  Ask for explanations of everything he tells you.  If you are to have chemo, ask for information on each drug.  Ask about your thyroid.  Ask about surgery or radiation and find out as much as you can.  Take the information he gives you and then go to the National Cancer Assn. and ask for more information.  Go to Mayo Clinic website and see what you can find t...
