I hope the funding gets sorted soon, lucky for my dad It didn't take too long to go through...although I don't know why they left it so long before they decided to put him forward for it.   My father is now in his 4th week of hyperbaric treatment. He has a further 2 weeks then he will be assessed for surgery. He has a huge abscess on the outside of the jaw which doesnt seem to be going down even though he is taking strong antibiotics. Hopefully things will improve.

  Please can anyone advise some good pain relief for my dad. He has the pain in his lower jaw and it's getting worse, I don't know how much longer he can put up with it. He is on antibiotics and taking tramadol and the usual codeine etc., but nothing seems to touch it. Has anybody got any advise on how he can manage this awful pain? Thanks

  No recommendation re. Teeth etc before the radiation began...in fact he hadn't heard about this side effect until he was diagnosed last November. I hope everything goes well for you, it sounds like a good plan having all the teeth removed. Good luck .

  Exactly the same as my dad except for chemo. He is going through hell. My dad is 71 and had radio therapy 10 years ago for the cancer in his tonsil. He is taking antibiotics and regularly goes back to the hospital as he can't bear the pain. The hospital may send him off to Plymouth for some time in a decompression chamber but he will have to wait weeks to find out if he can go. Its all down to money as we have been t...
