RE: SUGAR FEEDS CANCER CELLS !

by JOE2010 - September 19, 2010

I have heard the very same thing that cancer cells feed well off sugar, from many sources health , nutrition but no doctors  then the questions are ;

Do medical facts support this?

Has research been done?

if so then why aren't Doctors passing this info to patients?

I for one am going to ask the team of doctors (Shands teaching hospital) when I am addmitted to my 2nd round of RICE chemo treatment on Sept 28th , I will poll and post what all 14 doctors say .

mantle cell Lymphoma

by JOE2010 - September 11, 2010

I was diagnosed with MCL stage 4 in March of this year, it presented itself throughout my lymph system but mainly in my abdominal region, suffered a G.I. bleed in doctors office during marrow biopsy and was rushed to hospital and recived 15 units of blood and a regimen of R-chop chemo was started immed. my last cycles of R-chop was in June. In Aug i went for a petscan / ctscan which revealed a relapse, scheduled stem cell consult and immed start of R.I.C.E chem that started Sept 7 th my transplant doctor said i can only recieved donor transplant due to involvement in my marrow also. I just completed the first round of R.I.C.E and had an endoscopy this morning to see the progress of the cancer in my stomach area. results revealed several areas of additional involvement including the original site of bleeding. they took biopsies while there to have a positive diagnosis once they do they will tell me the next course of treatment.

has anyone had simular involvement and can tell how there treatment went...........Thank You

Iwas diagnosed with Stage 4 mantle cell in March and like your husband I have reflected on all the silly and needless aguements I have had with my with over the last 30 years and for the sometimes unbearable depression I go thru on a daily basis..........she truly is my soul mate and I am sorry for the pain and stress this has caused her......I LOVE her with every fiber of my being.....May GOD bless us all

RE: Bump on his back

by JOE2010 - August 27, 2010

Hi , i was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma in march of this year and have alot more experience in this area than I care to have, you say his has a bump on his back, is there any other areas that have these bumps? such as his neck ( front and back) or his groin area? sometimes a bump is just a bump, but he needs to have it looked at, no reason at this point to be scared. If it does turn out to be Lymphoma they willl tell you what kind and the course of treatment. the only thing I can tell you , is to be there for him , it is okay to be emotional but he will need all the support he can get, get him involved in this and other sites so he can better understand from other people who have it what to expect and to just have a safe place where he can unload all the emotions that come attached to a diagnois. if therte is any way I can help you let me know

GOD BLESS

Joe

since being diagnosed with stage 4 MCL in March of this year, I have received 6 cycles of R-chop , 2 cycles of RICE to no avail.I have just completed my 1st cycle of ESHAP, 3 are scheduled, a node in my neck at time of being admitted was the size of a golf ball after 2 days of ESHAP the node was pea sized and at time of discharge 6 days later was virtually undetected visually or manually.....A good sign?..I hope so, lot of rough days, but through it all my attitude and Faith keep me strong and also I cannot neglect to mention an incredible support group that cares and loves me from my wife, family and children and not to mention perfect strangers on this site who lift me up with their words of encouragement and positive attitude. please do not disregard the power of Prayer , words of encouragement and yes a positive attitude. Joe P.S my good thoughts and prayers go out to each person and their families
