  Nancy, Im feeling the same pain you are feeling. My mom was given two options, surgery or radiation and chemo, I wished she would have chosen the surgery, but she didnt. Her dr. told her that the two together are just as powerful and successful as surgery with less side affects. He felt the side affects from surgery would be too much all at once. Was your mother given options other that radiation and chemo? Be strong...

    nancy61 My mom did 35 sessions of radiation and chemo. she did well and tolerated both with minimal side effects. 2 weeks after finishing she developed pneumonia and another tumor started growing in her throat the Dr was going to do a resection and placed a trach for breathing . Thank you for your love encouragement and support. My mom passed this Friday Nov. 16,2012@(:15 am

    Kath67 Im so sorry for your loss Nancy. this cancer stuff sure is a nasty thing to have to go through. be thankful for the time you had with your mother. Remember the good times and know she faught hard, she didnt give up. Bless her heart.

  this is the same proceedure the dr.s talked about doing to my mother if her cancer was in the jaw bone. search the dragonfly, his name is Eric and he had that done and documented the entite journey. I found it pretty helpful. he interviewed people he met with the same thing. hope this helps, if not , private message me and i can send you the link

  Martin, I was told by my Dr. as I took on this journey with my mother, that I have to take care of myself also, and to find a way to manage my stress or I would become Ill myself. so far I have managed, its tough to watch or be a part of this disease, because you feel helpless, and its a wait and see thing. My mom is just begining....I dont live close to her at all and all I can hope is that she do the right thing. I...

  I went to Texas to be with my mother while the Drs went over all her scans with her and gave her her options for treatment. The good news is the cancer ISN'T in the jaw bone, it is close to attaching itself to the bone but today, it is resting on the bone. so her treatment options are surgery and radiation maybe some chemo OR Radiation and Chemo. she was going to do surgery because she was relieved that it wasn't in ...

  Hi Julie, If she is allowed to be at home and has a feeding tube. she will hide a bottle in the bathroom and put it in her feeding tube

  Julie, the surgeon involved is aware of her condition and I would think along with his team of Dr's he would have someone to help with that disease, but he dont. He is going to keep her from withdrawling while in surgery , and then what after that...that is one of my questions and I have 50 of them just for the surgeon, if she makes the appointment to sit down with him and go over everything and then prepare for surg...

  Hi Julie...we've just had a major set back. I just got off the phone with my mom, her best friend passed this morning. They took turns calling each other and it  was mom's turn to call her and thats when she learned that her good friend ever since the 4th grade was gone. She was given a year to live because of her condition (years of drinking) she wouldnt survive surgery to replace her heart, so she wanted to go...
