  Hi! I have neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer, that metastassed to the liver and linphynodes. I have lived yet for 21 years. I go to MDAnderson, in Houston Texas.   Hang on there! The tumors in my liver are shrinking little bit at the time. It is very slow growing, so it shrinks very slow also. I am living with this for 21 years now. So it is very uplifting.   I am taking AFINITOR. Maybe is the same medication. I have pancreatic cancer metasted to the liver. It is one of the most rare type of NEOENDOCRINE cancer, caled GLUCAGONOMA. I was on 5-FU and couple of other chemos before. I have been in AFINITOR since October 2011. I am taking 10mg a day. I am symptomless.   I have  Pancreatic Cancer. Pancreatic Cancer has a great ramificaio. One can't give you any recomendation, if you don't know what type. I have one very rare. It called Neoendocrine.   Good luck with the Octreotide injections! This is another name for Sandostatin Lar. My tumors do not shrink with it, but it takes away the synthoms. The only way the tumors shrank was with chemo. Now the AFINITOR, is keeping them stabelized. May God bless you! Maria I. Graf

  Hi, Iam sorry, your Dad got this type of cancer. Did he have any surgery yet? Or any type of treatment? I am doing fine with the AFINITOR. I am on 10 mg, and no bad side afect. But I correspond with another person, who started with 10mg, and had bad side afect, so he is taking only half of the recomended dosage. 5mg.   I am sorry you have a cancer, specialy this one, which is sooooo stuborn. I am not sure if your doctor mention a shot called Sandostatin Lar. This shot was at first aproved for diareha, but for me it works the opposit way. I was very constipated, and since I started on this shot, I became very regular, and simptomless from the cancer.
