Hi, I had my spleen removed, when I had a surgery to take 40% of my pancreas. I had a tumor size of a golf ball on the tail of my pancreas. The only thing I have to do for the spleenectomy is to take a Pneumovax shot, because your body loses the imunizations to fight infections. You might be vunerable for pneumonia. The pathology didn't accuse Cancer at the time, but it was. Only few years later I found out I have a...

Hi, My spleen was removed when I had  40% of the tail of my pancreas removed. I do not have to take antibiotics at all. The only thing I take is a Shot for pneumonia., called Pneomovax. I do not know why they will take the whole pancreas? Good luck, Maria I. Graf
