      HI, Shortstuff, I know you will be o.k. You are only 21, such a young person who indeed can live up to 80 if not 100. You know thyroid cancer is a slow growth kind and mostly it spreads to lung or bone and perhaps lymph-nodes if they have been metastassized. Too much radiation surely in not good but it has to be accumulated in a big big amount. I have been going through a lot of radiation, x ray, scan, PET... recentl...

        I am not a professional singer but I sing in church choir, a tenor and Ihave my TT three months ago. Anything happened to my voice ? I could only whisper after the surgery and now I can talk a little louder but with  a very hoarse voice. Sometimes I feel my voice is clearer but most of time very husky, cranky..           Some medical scholars suggest that we should learn to live with cancer. When I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer I debated with myself to go for TT or not. I am in my 60's and I decided to go ahead. If I were in my 70's, I might choose not to. If you are still young, give yourslef a chance. Of course, it also depends on what kind of cancer you are dealing with. Good Luck.
