Bill,  Praying for him, for your family, and for the medical staff who are caring for him!  Barb does amazing work to raise funds for SNUC research to honor her daughter Ashley... She honors all of us who have been deeply affected by this horrible disease.   Michele

I had SNUC (Sinonasal Undifferentiated Carcinoma) which also originated in my sinuses and is quite rare.  My cancer was treated with chemo and radiation, but many with SNUC have undergone a variety of surgeries.  I am praying for your mom, your family, and for all the medical staff who attend her...   Michele

Good morning!  I am so sorry to hear about your grandson's diagnosis.  Jeanna has responded to you regarding the juicing and nutritional information.  She is a wealth of knowledge!  My name is Michele Smithson and I am a SNUC survivor.  I am tracking information for those diagnosed with SNUC, and along with Jeanna and Barb Abernathy (lost her daughter to SNUC), we are working to establish a s...

I Kathy.  My name is Michele and I am now 47.  I had chemo and radiation for SNUC (sinus cancer) in 2005 (age 39), so my experience may differ from yours.  I tolerated the first 12 rounds of chemo well but did lose my hair.  My "then husband" brought a huge trash can and liner for the ride home after my first treatment fearing that I would throw up the whole way home.  haha!  I found tha...

Hi Shari!  You are right... SNUC message boards and SNUC survivor threads are definitely hard to come by, but we are working to resolve that!  Jeana Clendanial who's mother is fighting SNUC now (Dallas TX) and I connected on Cancer Compass and Jeana's husband has developed a website specifically for SNUC!  I have found many people through this site as well as on FB who are working feverishly to raise a...

It's almost easier to be the patient than the caregiver because I believe caregivers often feel like there is nothing they can do.  The love & support of caregivers as well as the medical staff were very important to me and still are!  It's been 8 years since my diagnosis, and I lived the first 2 or 3 years wondering when it would come back... and believe me, treatment is hard, but it was more frighteni...

Glad to help!  It's hard when you begin to look more like your "old self" but have all the residual effects like chemo brain and radiation related memory issues.  People forget that your body has been through a major battle!  I struggled for along time after I began getting good reports on my scans... almost felt guilty, but my sister Lauren made the point that I had spend the past six months fighting ...

My sister found an article and told me about it.  Here are some links: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/chemo-brain/DS01109 http://chemobrain.org/ Or you can just google "chemo brain" to find more info.  This is the kind of information that we plan on sharing on the website that Jeana and her husband are working on!  Support, information, treatment facilities & doctors who are successfully treat...

His treatment sounds a lot like mine.  In 2005-2006 I received 35 rounds of radiation and 24 rounds of chemo (once a week for two 12-week sessions).  50 mg Carboplatin and  30 mg Paclitaxel.  I did not have any surgery other than my biopsy which was done from Dr. Duncavage at Vanderbilt.  Dr. Barbara A. Murphy was my head/neck oncologist, Dr. Anthony Cmelak was my radiation oncologist, and Dr...
