So very sorry to hear this. When you described what was happening, I knew exactly how you were feeling as we went through this in August.  Sadly we only had Sadie for 7 years and it is never enough time, regardless. Hugs to you.

Previous experience with seizures? Sadly yes, on the day Sadie died she had a seizure and never responded to any of us after it. She was still breathing but the Vet said her heart beat was very weak. She also threw up that morning.  We let her go.

A few days before we had to let Sadie go, she really did not want to eat. I almost had to force feed her. On the day of she went into the back yard and crawled under our shed, which she had not done since she was a little puppy. She had a seizure during the day and when I took her to the vet she seemed to not even know me. It was time. You will know.

It takes as long as it takes. For me we lost Sadie in August and I am still not over it. I am better and I have really good days and some not so good days.  She was family, she was my dearest and closest friend. We went everywhere together.  Like you, I had dogs all my life, but never did one capture my heart like Sadie did.  At this point I am not sure I will get another dog. I have lost one child ...

So sorry to hear this, I have not been here much lately, because it hurts so much to see everyone go through this. Just know that Lizzie did not know she was dying. That was what comforted me the most and my Vet helped me realize that.  She knew she was loved and that is what was most important. Hugs to all of you.

I just found your other postings in the longer TCC thread.  As to a specialist, you go with who you trust and feel comfortable with. Vets most certainly can treat it unless you are going to do chemo therapy or something similar. The most common protocol is piroxicam with pepcid and pain medication as needed.  Our vet sent us to Vet oncologist because they did not have an ultrasound. The oncology exam and ...

oh I wish I could say it will be all right but I feel you want the truth. If it is TCC, all you can do is battle it, you can't cure it. Some dogs have lived months, even years with it. Sadly our lab lived only a month after we found the tumor by ultrasound. Her UTI symptoms started 2 months before that. As with most everyone's dog we all started with what we thought was a very bad UTI.  If she has it and we w...

Don't worry about what you use to give the meds in, that amount is not going to make that much difference and you have to get the meds down.  I also put my meds in cream cheese balls. I tried everything just to get it down.  Ask your Vet about the dizziness. You might also ask about giving pepcid with the Piroxicam to avoid stomach upset.

Understand completely. Sadie has been gone 7 months tomorrow and I woke up this morning crying. Like you, something happens, and the tears come.  I do miss her so.  At times I questioned my sanity until I come here and see you guys going through the same thing.  Sharlene

It is so very hard, I miss Sadie every single day. Please come and share with us any time, for as you said we all do understand like no one else does.
