Hi MelbSufferer, I wish that I could say things were good, but unfortunately it's not going so well here with my poor, poor hubby. He has stopped the Afinitor, and we are keeping him as comfortable as possible. His body is exhausted. He is very sleepy. It's heart wrenching! Enjoy every moment! Things can change quickly. I hope that things continue well with you. Take care and all the best. Nettty

Hi Everyone, I need your help. My hubby (RCC, stage I'V, 2011, many mets to bones), has been on Sutent (a year) and now Afinitor for 3 months. His last scan showed stable disease, but our Oncologist wants to stop the Afinitor as he is getting more frail & weak, and feels that he has only weeks to go. He has had on going problems with hypercalcemia. What do we do? Have any of you stopped treatment and done nothing...

Hi Melbsufferer, Great to hear from a local. Where are you being treated & who is your oncologist? My hubby was diagnosed in Oct 2011, aged 51. He has been on Sutent and due to the formation of more bone tumours he is now on Afinitor. He is being treated at Epworth Private, Box Hill. It's really tough. So hard to see him in pain and suffering side effects of the drugs not to mention that it's robbed us of ...

Oh I can relate to the constant feelings of guilt! Going out feels so liberating, but then so self indulgent, that I just want to get back home again! I had a shop yesterday with my mother & sisters and felt guilty! It's terrible.... Luckily we are still able to go out for dinner occasionally but it's not easy. What's your husbands history? Mine has kidney cancer, diagnosed 17 months ago. It's been a slow decline in ...

Hi all, I fully understand where you are all coming from. What a depressing situation we find ourselves in, as care givers. As our once, hard working, kind, generous and loving husbands become grumpy, in constant pain and frail, what can we do to truely help them....so little, I feel. Out life changed 3 weeks after we moved into a brand new house that took 2 years to design and build. What a SHOCK it was when...

Hi, Has the Avastin helped with the reduction in number or size of bone mets? That's our biggest challenge..... Nettty
