  My mom is now on hospice care and is 15 months into this battle. She did the radiation/temodar, a clinical trial (failed) and then after 3 Avastin treatments the tumor is re-growing. Avastin works great in some people and not in others. We are just lucky to have had 15 months since the beginning of this fight. Do whatever you can as long as quality of life is not compromised.   My mom was on 400mg/day of lamotragine and they added vimpat when she seemed to be having focused seizures. She was only on it about 1 week before she was back in the hospital unable to walk. After staying a few days and they did an MRI and found out the Avastin was no longer working. They stopped the vimpat and she is now on hospice care.   Two days ago my mom could not walk, stand or talk so her husband took her to the ACU at Huntsman and they did an EEG and an MRI. The MRI showed tumor growth which means the Avastin is not working.   my moms case sounds exactly like what you are describing. she was diagnosed in Dec 2011 and was in surgery within 36 hours. the post op MRI showed no sign of the tumor. she had all the same issues but without the aggression but her cognitive abilities were not returning.   I think male psychology does have a lot to do with his refusal to get help. Even the social worker at the hospital and their Rabbi have tried and he just won't do it.   My mom had an MRI on Monday, met with the doc yesterday and today heard that her GBM is back and growing. She was originally diagnosed in Dec 2011 and had a craniotomy but has never been the same.
