I do not have cancer but my oesophagus keeps closing up and every 6 weeks I have to have a stretch. In between stretches sometimes it can shut off and I will not even be able to swallow my own salvia. This can last for anything up to 9 1/2 hours. I love running but it seems to make things worse. My doctor is talking about doing an operation to cut out my oesophagus and attach my throat to my stomach.
