Hello again.  Glad yesterday was a very good day.  Afinitor was the 2nd med that they used w/ Wm after a study drug, Tivozanib, which was great for minimal side effects, but didn't hold the tumor. Just like the other pt. that answered, watch out for the "cough".  It is inflammation of the lungs and once it gets going, I don't think it's worth holding out. My husband developed renal cell carcinoma in 2009 along w/ coincidental prostate cancer and a basal cell carcinoma. All were removed successfully, but the renal cell returned in the adrenal gland, then again in the fossa. It has a local metastastasis in the liver and the muscle of the diaphram and is inoperable. An experimental drug, Tivozanib helped stabilize it for 4mo. but it grew and he was dropped from the study. Afinitor was so dreadful he said he'd rather die of the cancer than the drug and discontin- ued for Protocel (2weeks as of 6/9/12)and Paw Paw x 1 week.
