  I am so sorry.  My father passed a few days after not taking liquids- Gallbladder and Pancreatic cancer.  He was resting comfortably until his breathing started to change.  I guess each person is a bit different. My thoughts are with you.

  Okay.  I would say yes! I have kind in calling it irritability as he has actually been a little nasty which is really not like him.  I say grumpy.  I did notice the change about the time he started it- which was also week 2 of the chemo- so I attributed it to the chemo. Thank you for this piece.

  When My husband had his whipple he was in hospitl wth a gentleman who was told the whipple would not be successful and so surgery and chemo were not an option.  He got a second opinion and found someone who would perform it.  He had the whipple the same day as my husband and was doing remarkably well and was discharged before my husband ( who had a set back).  His wife knew that this would not cure him...

  Thank you both.  I will talk to him about the enzymes and see what he says.  He has been very positive until the chemo and it was such a drastic shift.  Also he is a fairly even tempered guy but lately he is really sweating the small stuff.  The swelling in the arm has gone down and this is his week off of chemo.  I have asked him for a date night tonight, and he is considering it.  He d...

  Hi Bushy, Thank you so much for these kind words.  I know and I feel bad for complaining.  I feel like he does not see my support.  My father and my husband were diagnosed within 10 days of one another- Dad had gall bladder cancer that spead to the pancreas - and he died in 5 weeks from diagnosis.  I think this must be hard for my husband to see what my father went through in such a sho...

  Wow. Okay Candy- Thanks.  This sounds like something he would do.  I am so glad you got what you needed to get through.  He does not seem to be in pain but definitely exhausted and stubbornly not admitting it or slowing down.  This helps a great deal.

  This week my husband came home from chemo with swelling to his arm and it was very red.  He had no fever, and today (6 days later) the swelling has gone down.  The arm was the site of the iv. Has anyone else had this reaction?  Minor in the scheme of things but I would just like to know.  He is on the gemcitabine. Thanks

  Thanks Bushy.  You are right -the first few days I was personalizing it, and it does hurt.  I am not personalizing anymore and this has helped with being patient. I do feel a bit like walking on eggshells though, as I don't want to cause him any stress.
