Generally it means that the GBM sufferer (tho the account is frequently the caregiver's) has lost their battle. We all try to be upbeat and hopeful, but as we all know, battles are lost.

Thank you for your reply, jon4156.  I was the caregiver for my husband from his diagnosis of GBM through his death, so I do understand your points. You may have slightly missed my point though.  While we are close enough to the U.S., we're not the U.S.  That is a plane trip, not a drive, away.  My husband and I were able to basically live in the U.S. for the 18 months of his journey because ...

Good Morning all you brave, tired, sad, angry, loving and loved, blessed people. I traveled the journey with my beloved husband for 18 months. Boy, did I learn alot. Turning that knowledge into real help for people effected by BT's is now my 'journey'.  From time to time I will need your help..as you know, these journeys cannot be trod alone! First, a short outline, then my first question. My husband comes f...

I finished the 2 weeks on/2 weeks off/2 weeks on cycle of Zyclara in May, 2012.  It is now September 2012 and I have had and am having major 'after affects' from the Zyclara. The most major is that in July I ended up in the hospital with a very severe allergic reaction to Mangos.  This was from eating, with a fork, diced Mangos from the tree in our yard.  It was there when we bought the house 13 years...

The debulking helps so much. And really, 70% isn't all that bad.  Granted, it's not 90%, but it's still actually pretty good. In a few weeks she'll likely be far better that either of you expect. My husband was only 55% debulked and he did great. So you just never know.  Stay positive, it's darn hard, but it's also great medicine. All my very best, and prayers too.

Just wanted you to know that my husband was taken to the hospital the day before surgery for seizures too.  They kept him stable and the surgery went as planned. I hope this helps you. Sometimes it's a help to know your not alone, and not the first.  I will be praying that all goes as well as possible.

My information came, in person, from the Duke Brain Tumor Clinic and from studying piles of research trials on Glioblastoma. Your friend was likely mis-diagnosed 20 years ago.

beemidwife:  My point exactly. This should be in the Alternative Treatment section .. NOT in the Brain Cancer section! Moderators, could you please move it?

Temador did not work at all on my husband.  But, the Avastin was great.  It gave him a long period of wonderful quality of life.  Stay positive. It's very scary, but the chances are that the Avastin will be good.

My answer here, which I have said before, refers to BRAIN CANCER, because this is the section this thread is under: Brain Cancer is completely different from other cancers.  First the brain is the master switch.  You can get brain cancer even if you are unusually healthy in every single way. (As was my husband.).  Smoking doesn't cause it, drinking doesn't cause it, being a couch potato doesn't cause ...
