I'm sorry that it has taken me this long to respond but this is an old post and I have't been back to it for some time. In answer to yo...

There is no known relationship between anti-PD-1 and BRAF, it works in an entirely different way.

Trial # 15400 at Moffitt is a Phase 1 trial of anti-PD-1 with a Peptide Vaccine. It os one of several that combine anti-PD-1 with other agents. All the information about results that I have seen comes from patients, some who have seen excellent results. There are, indeed, no Phase 2 or 3 trials as yet but the original Stage 1B trial that I participated was expanded. The results from that study have led Bristol Meyers...

I have been a participant in the Phase 1B anti-PD-1 (MDX-1106, BMS-936588) trial for 4 years and have been NED for over 3. As a melanoma advocate, I follow postings on the many melanoma related sites and forums: over the past few months there have been a vast number of postings by patients for whom recently approved therapies no longer keep melanoma in check. They are crying out for anti-PD-1 and, especially t...

Bristol-Meyers Squibb is launching several clinical trials for their anti-PD-1 product, BMS-936558, for NSCLC. I was a participant in their 1B trial for melanoma, NSCLC and renal cell cancers, In that trial they reported an 18% response rate for NSCLC and slightly higher response rates for the other indications. The oncology community has been very enthusiastic about this immunotherapy since  early results of th...

The recent movie,"You will Cry and Smile," directed by Kevin Macdonald seems to resurrect the Urban Legend that Marley died from an acral lentiginous melanoma that resulted from a football injury to the big toe on his right foot. He did die from metastatic melanoma that had its primary lesion on that toe but the injury and the trauma that resulted were only what caused him to seek medical attention. People of co...

I am a Stage IV survivor looking for others who have the time and effort to participate in an advocacy effort modeled upon the one that helped to facilitate the rapid development of treatments for HIV and Aids. The effort would involve participation in conferences, FDA and NIH review efforts and local support organizations in order to support change in the way in which new therapies and diagnostics are developed, tes...

Stage IV, Il-2 then Anti PD-1 trial at Yale. Scans show only scar tissue, PET Scans show NED. I want to work with other patient/survivors to launch a patient effort to advance progress of melanoma therapy by knowledge-empowered activism. That means learning as much as we can about our diseas:the science, the process by which science is translated into practice, and the processes and institutions that control theraputic innovation and where we can intervene in them. I need help.
