Hi Donna I am so sorry for your loss...July 17th marked the two anniversary of Rods passing ...it seems like a million years ago and yesterday all at the same time. I must admit that when I saw this post, I began laughing again myself, lol.  I was actually speaking today to someone about these "episodes"...I speak often of Rods flushing a baked potato down the toilet and denying it with a passion...it was funn...

Hi Byrd Unfortunately, my parents wanted to go this particular appt alone.  Mom told me yesterday she has questions and I told her to write them down so she doesn't forget them and that it's always good to have someone else there with them...I know this from experience as well.  She had a PET Scan in Ottawa about a month ago and it didn't show anything, the first biopsy results were reflected as "scar tis...

Hi everyone I became a member of cancer compass in the brain cancer message forum in 2008 after my husband was diagnosed with a rare primary brain tumor.  Sadly, he passed July 17, 2010. I now find myself needing information from this message forum as my mother (aged 74) was just diagnosed.  After a series of tests and biopsies, we received word this morning that surgery will be performed before the end o...

Cancer Compass Friends: Just when everything seemed to be allowing a sense of normalcy in my life again, I find that yet another curve has been added to the mix. It has been almost 2 years since Rod passed away, with his last admission to hospital being the last week of June.  Now I am faced with yet another unbelievable situation.  My mother received word this morning that a lung biopsy obtained last wee...

I'm not sure what's going on, even I felt the "urge" to come back to the site...maybe it's because it's spring, who knows?  I do know that when I'm feeling down that I feel among friends when I visit the forum.  So many old friends and so many new names. Forever in my prayers Donna E.

Hi I went through this with my husband as well, and sadly, because of hte nature of my husbands tumor he experienced pscychotic episodes where he became physical...I've said to others what I am about to tell you...please please please remember it is the disease, not your husband. It is possible that a medication adjustment needs to be made so definitely call his doctor or the team to let them know what happened.&nb...

Hi there My husband lost most of his grey thinning hair after undergoing radiation treatment.  About 4 months later he was at the barber getting a shave and a haircut.  Over the course of a year and a half, his hair became dark brown, wavy and thick.  Maybe he was an anomaly (sic) but it even grew back where the surgery incision had been.  As for the tiredness, Rod was on Temodar from February ...

I, unfortunately, am "displaced".  It was me, then it was we and now I don't know who I am anymore.  I buy take out and eat in my vehicle because I'm uncomfortable sitting alone.  I've become the person people pull another chair over for.  I know it's all in my head, however it's there.  I work 80 hours a week now as a PSW, which is such a rewarding position to have, because I don't want to b...
