My husband only 47 yrs. old was diagnosed with Ampullary Carcinoma last March 2010. He had whipple surgery, had a tumor removed by the pancreas and two lymph nodes tested positve. Chemo was done as a prevention july 2010 - Jan 2011. Few months later had CT scan showing return and spread. Has been diagnosed stage 4 terminal and on aggressive chemo for 3 sessions. He is halfway through second session, CT scans show reduction in tumor on spleen, reduction in lesions on the liver and reduction of the small tumor on tail of the pancreas. He is weakend by this aggressive chemo treatment of capcitabine and cisiplane, It is brutal for him and myself, he lost all the weight again and will take time to put back on. I am hopeful even though they said terminal.. They are not God, you never know and you have got to believe!
