It is always good to hear that there are success stories. I am in a unique situation as not only my mother has PC but a dear friend and co-worker has it as while. She is undergoing the surgery tomorrow and I have prayed that she will be successful. I know that my mother has lived a long and good life. She has watched 8 grandchildren grow up to be fine human beings. She has been blessed with 10 great grandchildre...

My mother quit smoking more the twenty years ago. There is no family history of PC however she has had several bouts of severe infections of the Pancreatic. This is what they believe caused her PC. I hope that you can get your father to quit smoking for his health.

Hello, I know that my mom's CA19-9 markers have been up and down since she started 5-FU treatment.  The doctor told me that it is normal and as long as there is not a huge jump in the numbers, there is nothing to worry about.  If you are concerned call his doctor and speak with the nurse.  I know that my mom's doctor's nurse has been wonderful with providing me information. good luck.

Hello Alexuk,   My Mom also has horrible diarrhea despite the Creon.  It has been going on now for 15 months since she had the whipple procedure.  The only thing that has stopped hers is liquid opuim.  I would ask her about it. I will warn you that it it hard to fine and very expensive but it works.
