  Hi Mark, The reason for pushing the BMT as I understand it is simply the odds that the CMML becomes AML which they tell me can happen at any time and if not caught in time then ........well..........it may be too late.  My neutrophil count is on a steady decline even tough my other numbers are pretty good.  My odds, as guesses at such things go, are 50/50 with the transplant.  Lower than that without ...

  Interesting on the hospital June.  We visited 2 highly rated certified ones and picked one that has been around for years but have not yet done enouhg to be cerified as a center of excellence.  A friend of mine had his there.  He is doing great but had a "simpler" cancer.  We liked some of the ideas in this place better, i.e. a month in hospital isol after the BMT.  My reasoning with the...

  Hi June, My Dr.s are telling me that one of my counts (my wife keeps the details) is on a steady decline.  They all agree that in my case my odds are better with the BMT to go now.  Waiting may make it too late.  I have my "team meeting" to see if I make the grade next week.  I will ask the question.  One good thing is that I see two differnt Docs and so I can ask twice. Thank...

  Hi Pepper.  I have Chronic Myeliomoncytic Leukemia.  Waas diagnosed about a year ago and I'm scheduled for a bone marrow transplant next month.  YOu are right the disease is rare and finding specific info online is really tough.  Honestly I'm scared to death and would love to find someone in a similar condition that I could talk to.
