Just wanted to update everyone here on the results of the trial. Dave received the injection in February, and we believe that it was working fairly well, although slowly. He ended up having explosive growth in his original frontal lobe resection cavity which then overwhelmed the injection site in the parietal lobe, and he passed away on June 18th.
The original survivor I mentioned previously is now at 21 months and...

Everyone, thank you for the input. We have thought about the vaccines, but without being sure that it's tumor rather than necrosis, it's difficult to know if we can go that route. We have not had any genetic testing done on the tumor. Dave is doing well and could travel, but since we live in Texas, the additional travel costs could really add up if we go somewhere else, since there are many follow-u...

I was wondering what the current thinking is on the cytomegalovirus and gbm connection - specifically the possibility of immunotherapy with a clinical trial. Anyone have any current information? Thanks, CindyO

Amitabh,
Thank you for responding to my question. I really appreciate the additional information and will definitely monitor my husband's sodium level carefully. This GBM journey is amazingly complex and full of challenges, so I'm glad that we're here to help one another. Cindy

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your dad - it's an incredibly difficult journey which we've been asked to take. My husband was diagnosed with a GBM in March 2011, and is doing well so far, but it's really been a roller coaster ride.
I wanted to ask you about your comment about higher salt intake while taking Temodar. I haven't heard this before, and wondered if you would mind clarifying. Thank...
