My husband had 33 radiation treatments plus chemo in 2010. The weeks after treatment were brutal. He used a suction pump (Mr. Thirsty) for about six weeks to keep from choking. His neck was burned so bad it looked like he had been in a fire. Be patient....healing will be very slow. In 2014, the cancer was found in my husbands Lymph nodes...all were removed on the right side of his neck and he had another 33 radi...

Thanks for your input. My husband had surgery to remove lymph nodes last April. Then 33 more radiation treatments + chemo. An area kept holding fluid that had to be drained weekly. He wants to give it another 4 weeks and if no healing occurs, he recommends another surgery. I am afraid that would just cr...

After 3-1/2 years, my husband had to have all lymph nodes on the right side of his neck removed. Now he will have 33 more radiation plus chemo. Has anyone else been through two rounds of treatment?

My husband went through the choking.  He had to use Mr. Thirsty as my daugher called it.  It is a suction machine that gets the mucous out of the throat.  You may want to ask about that.  It was very helpful. My husband had stage 4 throat cancer.  He could barely swallow a few sips of water at the end of treatment.  Your husband needs to use the feeding tube or he will not have the stre...
