How do lifestyle factors and exposure to environmental substances affect our cancer risk?
I'm so sorry this is happening to you. The best advise is to take things one day at a time and never give up hope. Find at least one person you can talk with that won't judge you or get easily upset There are many great treatment facilities and new medications for your type of cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Cora
my mom lost her battle with lung cancer on may 28 2012. Somedays I still reach for the phone to call her then it hits me again. Tomorrow is her birthday and I can't help but think we should be celebrating this weekend, she was too young to go. I feel so lost with out my mom here with me.
I found this poem and I look at it frequently as the days get harder for my mom. What Canecer Cannot Do Cancer is so limited... It cannot cripple Love It cannot shatter Hope It cannot destroy Peace It cannot suppress Memories It cannot silent Courage It cannot invade the Soul It cannot steal Eternal Life It cannot Conquer the Spirt -Author unknown
I'm sorry you are having to go through this. my mom is also in the last stages of lung cancer. I can tell you from my experience with my grandfather who passed from lung cancer it was very peaceful. He slipped into a coma and for the first time in weeks he was not crying out in pain. We were with him and able to say goodbye, then he was gone. My thoughts and prayers are with you through this time Cora

My mom was diagnosed with extensive stage small cell lung cancer on 12/24/2010. Since then she has been on four different types of chemo , including a study drug, and had part of her lung and her sinus cavity radiated. The disease has never fully gone in to a nonactive state and she has been on treatments for over a year. Yesterday her latest PET scan showed that she's not having any response to the treatments a...

The first thing you need to ask is if the chemo is what caused his kidney functions to be elevated, and if there are any other medications he is a canidate to receive. The other question that is always on our mind is will the...

She is now on a treatment that makes her sick, very tired and sore everywhere. She is my best friend and just thinking about what it will be like when she's gone makes me want to curl up and hide. I'm very sorry for your loss. My mom currently has terminal lung cancer and it is a hard road to go down. Counseling is a very good idea, I have lost five family members to cancer, even though people expect you to "move on" it's not that easy. It helps to be able to talk to someone outside of family and friends that will not judge you. Your life has changed forever and you need to take time to adjust and grieve for y...
