  it can take awhile to qualify for disability. I was lucky .I have total disabilty so can not work at all and I do miss it. work is a reminder that you are NOT your cancer. Also do you depend on work for insurance? Having private insurance or medicare/medicaid can make a difference in where you get treated.   I have passed the average tme when recurrence uasually occurs and I am still healthy, well not healthy but alive lol. but I do spend more time wondering what it is going to be like when it comes back?
